Luban Workshop helps Indonesian students' employment

Indonesia's first Luban Workshop, established by Tianjin Dongli District Vocational Education School in December 2017, have won praise from local teachers and students for graduate prospects, the advanced teaching equipment and quality teaching materials.

The Luban Workshop at Ponorogo's Number 2 Vocational Technical School conducts training on drone techniques and skills, besides vehicle maintenance and repair, new energy technologies, and innovative engineering.

Indonesia is an agricultural country that requires many talents educated on agricultural technology. As such, one of the teaching areas Luban Workshop focuses on is drone techniques for agriculture.

Teachers instruct students on every detail of disassembly, calibration, operation and maintenance. They also organize field operations and competitions to improve students' skills.

"Modern techniques play an important role in pushing forward agricultural development. We truly cherish the opportunity to expand our knowledge. Hopefully, new techniques and technologies can boost efficiency and enhance agricultural production in Indonesia," said Lewa, a student at the workshop. 

"Many schools in Indonesia hope to introduce drone technique training. Other schools’ teachers come to our school to learn techniques," said Parietti, a teacher at Ponorogo's second vocational technical school.  

"We hoped that with the help of Chinese schools and enterprises, drone application can be further promoted to fuel the development of Indonesia's related industries," Parietti continued.

Ponorogo's Number 2 Vocational Technical School recognized Luban Workshop's courses perfectly meet the needs of Indonesia's social and economic development.

More than 1,000 new students have registered at the school since the Luban Workshop opened. Also, the employment rate for graduates has steadily increased, with 98 percent of the 2019-2020 graduates inked their contracts.

As a new cooperation model, Luban Workshop provides Indonesia with a novel method of training technical talents. , The country is looking forward to strengthening cultural exchanges, especially cooperation in vocational education, according to the vocational education department under the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture.

Djauhari Oratmangun, Indonesia's ambassador to China, said that more innovative cooperation activities were expected, as integrating vocational education with economic construction is important to advancing the economic development of Indonesia.
