While sharing Chinese vocational education achievements and providing advanced teaching equipment, they also organize technical skill training for teachers in partner countries and invited them to China for on-site exchanges.
Luban Workshops are named for Lu Ban (507-440 BC), a renowned Chinese carpenter, craftsman and engineer. They provide technical skill training for college students, enabling them to be market-ready upon graduation.

The Kenya Luban Workshop jointly built by Tianjin City Vocational College and Machakos University in Kenya was launched on Dec 14, 2019. Thanks to its establishment, majors in cloud computing and information security were incorporated into Kenya’s undergraduate education system.
"Before the COVID-19 outbreak, we invited six teachers from Machakos University in Kenya to Tianjin for professional training, focusing on routing and switching technology, storage technology, cloud computing technology and Internet of Things control technology," said Li Yan, president of Tianjin City Vocational College, adding that their communication is still close through "Classroom in the Air".
Tianjin City Vocational College has trained more than 30 professional cloud computing teachers for Kenya with more than 200 hours of training.
