The 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), which takes place in Beijing from Sept 4 until Spet 6 of this week, will discuss a number of topics with the aim of shaping a collective vision for the future.
The eagerly awaited event has generated considerable enthusiasm across African society, with numerous mainstream media outlets publishing articles that reflect on the history and successes of China-Africa cooperation, while also expressing hope for this week's event.
On Aug 7, Kenya's Capital FM reported that Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya's prime cabinet secretary, voiced strong support for the core goals of the FOCAC.
It was reported that Mudavadi said the upcoming summit is expected to unlock new opportunities for deepening Kenya-China cooperation across various sectors, including trade, investment, green development, peace and security, and cultural exchanges.
