Born in Nyingchi prefecture, realistic oil painter Huang Jialin revisits the scenery and distinctive culture of the Tibet autonomous region in his work.

Huang is showing some 40 pieces of art at the Cultural Palace of Nationalities in Beijing through Aug 5, in a gesture to mark the centennial of the Communist Party of China and the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet.

Huang's canvases reflect Tibet's social progress achieved over seven decades, and celebrate the cultural diversity on "the roof of the world".
