Recently, volunteers from State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company visited the Daoxu Street Middle School in Shangyu district, Shaoxing city, Zhejiang province, to provide volunteer services. Through an online classroom, they connected with the Second Middle School of Biru county in Nagchu city, Xizang autonomous region, jointly conducting the green electricity-themed volunteer service activity.

"Students, please imagine what it feels like to be at an altitude of 4,500 meters on a plateau without electricity. How can we have environmental-friendly and convenient electricity?" a teacher asked in the classroom.

Centering on the topic of foldable mobile light storage integrated equipment on “Yak's Back," the volunteers showcased how it serves the electricity needs of nomadic communities in Xizang, which immediately triggered the students' interest. From the principles of new energy generation such as solar and wind power to discussions on available clean energy sources, students engaged in discussions guided by the volunteers. Students from the Second Middle School of Biru county joined the exchange through the online classroom where they provided energy-saving tips and pledged to be environmental pioneers.

The spirit of the volunteer service, of doing a good deed together and safeguarding a blue sky, continued through a "big hands holding the little hands" approach. After the volunteers finished teaching, the students signed an energy-saving and environmental protection advocacy letter and applied to join Shaoxing's Lushifu Volunteer Service Center, trying to contribute to promoting energy-saving and environmental protection concepts.

Witnessed through the video link with the Second Middle School of Biru county, students from Daoxu Middle School planted a friendship tree symbolizing their longing for a green and beautiful future together. A plaque with their handwriting, featuring the bilingual theme of the event in Chinese and Tibetan language, was hung on the tree. The environmental protection concept began with the young volunteers' classroom education and continued through the students' good deeds.

The story of "safeguarding a blue sky together" extends beyond Zhejiang to Nagchu. At the recently concluded seventh China Youth Volunteer Service Project Competition, the Power Station on Yak-Back initiative launched by State Grid Shaoxing Power Supply Company — a sustainable project addressing the electricity needs of Xizang nomads — stood out among 100 projects and won the silver award of the event's welfare entrepreneurship competition.

Since 2021, the project team has been exploring solutions to the electricity challenges faced by Xizang nomads, achieving three generations of light storage product iterations through long-term volunteer service practices. They have assisted 105 nomadic households in solving the problem of lack of electricity during nomadic activities. They helped nomads improve productivity and quality of life, achieve increased income and wealth, transmitting the concept of green development and environmental friendliness through the mobile integrated light storage micro-power station solution.

In the future, the volunteers plan to conduct a more diverse range of environmental education activities, promote cultural exchange, convey green concepts and let the beautiful vision of "safeguarding a blue sky together" take root and flourish among more people.
