In the capital city of Northeast China's Liaoning province, Shenyang Palace Museum now undergoes comprehensive disinfection every week to offer a safe environment for visitors, according to local media reports.
The museum hired a professional cleaning company to do the disinfection work each week from December 2020 until this April, and frequently used facilities such as bathrooms will be disinfected every two hours, according to a staff member from the museum.
The disinfectant used at the museum is non-toxic, colorless, tasteless and harmless to people. According to the company, it is safe and effective and will not harm cultural relics at the museum.
Since Jan 20, cultural venues in Shenyang have been limiting their visitor numbers to no more than 75 percent of the approved number. These cultural sites include museums, libraries, cultural centers, art galleries and internet cafes, among other venues.
Visitors to Shenyang Palace Museum now need to register online and purchase tickets under their real names. Before entering, they need to show the reservation code, their health code and ID card, and only those with normal body temperatures will be allowed in. People must wear masks while visiting the museum.
