Zhao Houlin, ITU secretary-general, gave a speech at the WIC's inaugural ceremony
"As a long-standing partner of the World Internet Conference, I sincerely hope that we can keep strengthening cooperation in the future to advance digital cooperation among multi-stakeholders in cyberspace, facilitate the innovation and development of network technology and make the achievements of Internet better benefit the people of all countries around the world", said ITU secretary-general Zhao Houlin at the WIC's inaugural ceremony held in Beijing on July 12.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
