Qualcomm Technologies recently announced that it has offered new Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to support the development of next-generation IoT devices, namely Qualcomm® QCS8550, Qualcomm® QCM8550, Qualcomm® QCS4490 and Qualcomm® QCM4490 processors.

The newly-updated solutions, with rich functions, advanced features and a wide range of uses, aim to meet the demanding needs of the Internet industry and commercial application of IoT. The solutions enable new use cases to boost the development of the IoT in such areas as video coordination, cloud gaming and retail.

The Qualcomm® QCS8550 and Qualcomm® QCM8550 processors integrate maximum computing power,  AI processing at the edge, connection to Wi-Fi 7, and illustrative graphics and video capability, providing support for the IoT applications with high-performance demand and facilitating their fast deployment, such as autonomous mobile robots and industrial drones.

The above-mentioned products apply an AI framework optimized by Qualcomm Technologies, and are able to provide high-quality processing for a wide range of business models and cases. They are also equipped with powerful video and graphic processing ability, which can boost the experience of immersive cloud games, video coordination and video streaming.

The Qualcomm® QCS4490 and Qualcomm® QCM4490 processors contain the key advanced characteristics necessary for the connection and next-gen processing of industrial handheld and computing devices. The solutions are equipped with 5G and Wi-Fi 6E connections, which means they allow for a transmission rate of multi-gigabit, a much wider coverage, low latency and more effective processing ability to cope with complex computing tasks.

The two processors are expected to support Android system until the release of Android 18, which means that they can be used for industrial designs up until 2030, minimizing the duration and cost of devices development by providing far more flexible and long-lived processors.

The four processors are also suitable for other IoT applications which require lower latency, higher credibility, and more optimized development duration, including advanced retail, point of sale devices, as well as control and automation applications.
