Building a national unified data factor market system and promoting the market-oriented allocation of data factors are important issues in the development of the digital economy that require urgent solutions, Wang Shouyang, director of the CAS' Center for Forecasting Science, said during an interview at the ongoing World Internet Conference (WIC) Nishan Dialogue on Digital Civilization in Qufu, Shandong province.

According to Wang, six factors must be considered when building a national unified data factor market system: basic system, market facilities, digital technology, market players, data security, and market environment.
He noted that Shandong province's advantages in policy, geography, industry, education and other aspects provide strong support for the construction of a national unified data factor market.
Wang added that Shandong's efforts to build its digital economy will achieve outstanding achievements and make greater contributions to the development of the data industry in China and even the world.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
