Organized by the Journal of Transcultural Communication and hosted by Massey University's School of Communication, Journalism and Marketing, the conference themed "AI and the Future of Transcultural Communication" featured insightful discussions on the transformative impact of AI on global media landscapes.

Professor Karen Arriaza Ibarra, chair of IAMCR's International Communication Section (INC), delivered opening remarks, emphasizing AI's potential to advance transcultural communication profoundly.

Professor Stephen Croucher from Massey University underscored New Zealand's embrace of dual cultures and warmly welcomed participants using traditional Māori language expressions.

In their closing remarks, Professor Deqiang Ji and Professor Stephen Croucher highlighted the conference's role in promoting international academic exchange and collaboration. They emphasized AI's critical role in higher education and policymaking, advocating for ongoing research into its societal impacts and educational applications while advancing scholarly dialogue and research in media and cultural studies.
