While the internet thrives on innovation, long-term prosperity depends on rule-based governance. In the new stage, efforts must be grounded in rules and adhere to the principle of extensive consultation, joint contribution, win-win results, and shared benefits. Continuously improving global internet governance rules is essential to consolidate the legal foundation for building a community with a shared future in cyberspace, said Huang Zhixiong, professor of the International Law Research Institute, vice dean of the Law School, and director of the Institute for Cyberspace Governance, Wuhan University, at the Seminar on Advancing the Building of a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace to a New Stage, which was hosted in Beijing on Sept 3.
