The sixth meeting of the first Council of the World Internet Conference (WIC) adopted the List of New WIC Members, seeing more members join the WIC organization.
Here is the introduction of new non-profit institution members of the WIC:
Society for innovation, cooperation and internationalization (SPICI)
SPICI, established in Italy in 2019 and headquartered in Naples, Italy, is an open innovation center. SPICI is committed to scientific and technological innovation, enterprise incubation and international cooperation, aiming at creating value for the industry ecosystem and designing and developing technical solutions. It provides advanced services, solutions and projects for internationalization, digital transformation and commercial acceleration for private enterprises and public entities, and carries out extensive cooperation with large enterprises, universities, European entities and Italian public entities. SPICI has been operating in China for a long time and cooperates with many Chinese partners.
Asia Academy of Digital Economics
The Asia Academy of Digital Economics (AADE) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and independent think tank registered and operating in Singapore. Composed of distinguished experts and industry leaders in digital economics, the Academy transcends disciplines, borders, and cultures. It is dedicated to promoting the critical role of science and technology in enhancing social productivity and regional economic development. Additionally, the AADE is registered as a non-governmental organization with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). In the context of the digital economy, issues such as the wealth gap, monopolization of power, and group fragmentation are intensifying. To promote digital equity and the innovative development of the digital economy, AADE addresses three core issues through three key initiatives: Digital Inclusion Initiative; Cross-Border Engagement Initiative; Innovation Synergy Initiative.
JSC Development Fund of Georgia
JSC Development Fund of Georgia was established in 2011. It has always adhered to the principles of transparency, accountability and efficiency. As a key institution of development finance, it has made great contributions to Georgia's sustainable economic growth and promoted social and economic progress in all walks of life. It has promoted Georgia's transformation into a high value-added and knowledge-based industry by supporting financially feasible investment initiatives. Its strategy aims to attract and support private investors, help projects attract priority financing from commercial sources or international financial institutions, and assist its partners and management teams to make plans to create sustainable long-term value.
Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC)
BNNRC was registered as an ICT promotion organization in 2005 in the Bureau of NGO Affairs of the Prime Minister's Office of Bangladesh. It has special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and has been recognized by international organizations such as the United Nations World Summit on Information Society (WSIS). Its work is to develop, protect and use ICTs, and build confidence and security in the use of ICTs. For more than 20 years, it has promoted the action lines of the United Nations WSIS and the localization process of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) in Bangladesh.
Digital Students
Digital Students, established in Chile in 2022, is a global online learning community focusing on creating virtual communities through technology and providing knowledge and education in different disciplines. The community provides solutions based on AI and block chain technology for users from 14 Spanish-speaking countries. The community has a unique and registered learning method, and combines with tools based on AI, therefore making online learning easier, more dynamic and accessible.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
