Sun Maosong: AI4S needs high-quality data
Sun Maosong, vice-chair and lead of the Industry Program of the World Internet Conference Specialized Committee on Artificial Intelligence, shared his views on AI for Science (AI4S) at a symposium on Feb 19.
Sun, also foreign member of Academia Europaea and executive vice dean of the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Tsinghua University, emphasized the importance of examining each scientific field when working on AI4S,stressing the identification of core issues that once resolved could lead to transformative breakthroughs in their respective fields. He also highlighted the necessity of high-quality, relevant data in solving problems, particularly in areas where human performance has been limited.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
