Gong Ke: AI4S is a path to future
Gong Ke, adviser of the World Internet Conference Specialized Committee on Artificial Intelligence and executive director of the Chinese Institute of New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Strategies, recently discussed the profound importance of AI for Science (AI4S). He emphasized that humanity must learn to master and effectively harness AI4S to tackle global challenges.
While AI4S holds great potential, Gong highlighted that the development of AI is not the end goal, but a crucial step towards achieving sustainable development goals. To unlock AI4S's full potential, Gong called for greater international cooperation, research integrity, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to open-source principles.
The World Internet Conference (WIC) was established as an international organization on July 12, 2022, headquartered in Beijing, China. It was jointly initiated by Global System for Mobile Communication Association (GSMA), National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China (CNCERT), China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), Alibaba Group, Tencent, and Zhijiang Lab.
