The Old Courtyard scenic spot is a cultural tourist resort built by Shandong Huaxia Cultural Tourism Group with an investment of 2.2 billion yuan. Constituted by a folk cultural garden and a grand theater, the Old Courtyard has been listed as the key project of Xiamen and the top 10 key projects of cultural industry of Fujian province. It started welcoming visitors in July, 2015.

The Old Courtyard scenic spot has two features. One is indoor performing arts theater that stages all-day indoor landscape performance "the legend of Southern Fujian", which is presented with high-tech stage technology to show the distinctive history and culture of Southern Fujian. Another one is the folk culture garden that embodies Xiamen's local culture in its architectural style and layout.
