The final round of the first national Ultimate Frisbee championship for college students took place in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province on May 19.
The event was co-organized by the Chinese Extreme Sports Association, Siming district in Xiamen and the Xiamen municipal bureau of sports.
A total of 16 teams representing some of the nation's most talented Ultimate Frisbee athletes attended the event, including teams from Fudan University, Tongji University, South China University of Technology and Hunan University.
Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact sport that consists of two teams attempting to carry a plastic disc into each other's end-zone. The first team to score 13 points is the winner. Passing is the only way the Frisbee can be moved.
The sport has attracted many fans from colleges and universities in China in recent years. At present, more than 200 colleges and universities offer the course.
