The 11th East and West Small Animal Veterinary Conference was held at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center in Xiamen, Fujian province from May 20 to 23, local media reported.

At the opening ceremony, 48 professionals in the industry received awards for their substantial contributions to the pet industry.

A report on the development of pet hospitals in China was released at the event, reviewing the history and current situation of pet hospitals in the country.

A forum on the development of the pet industry in China in 2019 was also held on the same day where 23 experts shared their opinions on the topic.

The annual event attracted more than 15,000 participants from 16 countries and regions, and over 500 exhibitors from around the world gave presentations in five major exhibition areas covering 45,000 square meters.
