The new building of Wutong Ferry Terminal in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province will be put into use in early June.
The total construction area of the new terminal building exceeds 100,000 square meters, six times the size of the original building. The annual passenger throughput is expected to reach 3.5 million to 5 million people.
A number of intelligent application devices are used in the new building, allowing passengers to quickly and easily complete the entire self-clearance process, including buying tickets, checking, and boarding.
The new building is also expanding its business scope. Goods purchased by overseas tourists in duty-free shops in the city may be picked up at the port.
Additionally, Wutong Ferry Terminal has partnered with Xiamen Gaoqi International Airport, meaning passengers can now book their air tickets directly at the terminal arrival counter.
For passengers who have purchased tickets in advance, they can receive their boarding passes directly at the special sea-air transport counter and go through baggage check-in procedures after passing the joint inspection.
