Smart restaurants may be a future trend in Xiamen, East China's Fujian province, as the city's first robot service restaurant – Tomato Queen (Fanqie Nyuwang in Chinese) opened May 29.
The new restaurant integrates a series of high-end technologies, from kitchen inventory, dish making to reception, ordering and delivering.
People can order meals before they arrive at the restaurant through an app. After arriving at the restaurant, the dishes will have been made and are brought to the customers by robots.
According to the manager of Tomato Queen, Hou Hongli, the restaurant plans to create an all-round digital health management platform through the combination of offline smart restaurants, and online medical and fitness consultations.
Besides Tomato Queen, many food merchants are making moves to develop smart restaurants. Eleme, a leading takeout app in China, for example, is planning to open a smart restaurant in Xiamen.
