Spend a nice weekend with the kids in Xiamen

Don't know where to take the kids this weekend? Check out the Xiamen Horticulture Expo Garden, the former site of the 6th China (Xiamen) International Horticulture Expo.
Covering an area of 10.82 square kilometers, it has 9 characteristic scenic islands and 100 regional historical gardens. The Garden has been praised as "a grand showpiece on water, a garden that represents the world".
At this time of the year, there are three recommended routes for you to choose from.
1. Take the small train around the park
There are three small trains in the park, each with three carriages. Sitting on a train is the easiest way to enjoy the scenery along the road in the hot weather and it's suitable for both adults and children. [Photo/visitxm.com]
2. Spend the afternoon with adorable animals
There is an open space in the park for visitors to interact with small animals, such as squirrels, parrots, rabbits, peacocks and swans. It's a great place for children to embrace nature and learn to live peacefully with their fellow species. [Photo/visitxm.com]
3. Appreciate tropical plants
June is the month to appreciate Xiamen's city tree -- the Delonix regia, or flame tree -- as the flowers come into full bloom during this season. Besides the flame tree, many other tropical plants can be found in the park, such as cactus and other succulents. [Photo/visitxm.com]
