A special summer camp offering 'paralympic games' to handicapped children in Xiamen, Fujian province, started on June 8, local media reported.

The five-day event featured two categories – a floorball competition and the Motor Activities Training Program (MATP), and a group of 115 children, some of whom suffer mental disabilities, participated in the event.

According to a report in the local media, the camp was available for the children who suffer mental disabilities at all levels. The milder ones were able to take part in the games, while others joined the MATP.

The children may have lacked brilliant skills on the pitch but they put all their unyielding spirit into the activities.

Chen Shayin, the president of a special education school in Xiamen, said that it was very helpful to bring handicapped children and others with sound minds together at the summer camp, where all of them had an opportunity to get to know and understand each other.
