The Xiamen government and Tsinghua University have agreed to expand cooperation in technological innovation and the application of research findings, according to the local government.

Hu Changsheng, Party secretary of Xiamen, recounted the city's achievements in promoting investment and economic development. He said that Xiamen will take full advantage of the university's strength in discipline development, talent cultivation, and scientific research, and that the two sides will set up a close partnership in industry-university-research cooperation.

Wang Xiqin, executive vice-president of Tsinghua University, said that the university will make efforts to drive the development of major national strategies and continue to expand pragmatic cooperation with Xiamen in scientific and technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and improving people's livelihoods.

Both sides agreed to use the Cross-strait Tsinghua Research Institute to further accelerate technological innovation and talent cultivation and attract high-quality enterprises.
