The team is guided by Professor Wang Longxiang and consists of three students from the School of Computer Science: Yang Dong, Wang Zhikun, and Chen Yeyuan.
ICPC Chairman William B. Poucher presented the award to XJTU's team at the ceremony in Astana, Kazakhstan. This marks the first time XJTU has earned a medal at the ICPC World Finals and makes them the first institution in China's central and western regions to win a medal at this prestigious event.
The achievement was made possible through strong support from XJTU and competition sponsors. XJTU's School of Computer Science established a programming competition lab for daily training, with guidance from Professor Wang and Professor An Jian. Huawei, a key sponsor of ICPC, has also provided long-term support to XJTU's programming team.
The ICPC is the world's largest and most prestigious collegiate computer programming competition, often called the "Olympics of Computer Science". This year's competition featured over 200 teams and more than 840 participants from 170 universities across 50 countries.
