Transportation electrification conference held in Xi'an
The 2024 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific, was jointly staged on Oct 10-13 by Xi'an Jiaotong University or XJTU, Beijing Jiaotong University, Tsinghua University and Tongji University in the city of Xi'an – capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province.
The 2024 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific, is held in Xi'an.
Professor Hong Jun, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC XJTU Committee and vice-president of XJTU and Professor Mei Xuesong of XJTU served as conference chairs.
The opening ceremony was held on the morning of Oct 11, hosted by Professor Lei Yaguo, executive dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering at XJTU.
Hong Jun, Chris Mi – an IEEE/SAE fellow, and Han Yi – secretary general of the China Electrotechnical Society delivered speeches on behalf of the XJTU, IEEE and the electrotechnical society, respectively.
The conference also organized four specialized training sessions, a young scholars' forum, an industry forum, 15 breakout sessions, two poster exhibitions and 19 invited talks.
Experts, scholars, industry leaders and corporate representatives from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond gathered to share their research findings and practical experiences in the field of transportation electrification.
The topics covered a wide range of areas, including electric vehicles, rail transit, intelligent transportation, smart cities and smart societies. They showcased the latest in technological breakthroughs in transportation electrification and explored the integration of the technologies with societal, economic and environmental factors.
Mei Xuesong, as a conference chair, delivered a closing speech summarizing the conference proceedings and presented awards to the authors of the nine best papers.
Christopher H. T. Lee from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, the chair of the next conference, gave a presentation on the preparations for the 2025 event to be held in his country.
The IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific, is widely regarded as being an important annual academic conference initiated by IEEE and has become one of the top international academic conferences in its field.
