Yunnan University launches major project

The launch ceremony for the China Rural Social Survey Project was held on Oct 27 in the reporting hall of Donglu Campus in Yunnan University, or YNU – located in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

The important project will aim to further study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as implement the major deployment of the provincial Party committee and government.

Focusing on the vitalization of rural industries, the workforce, culture and the environment, the project is expected to comprehensively reflect the historical achievements of Yunnan's poverty alleviation program and the specific practice of Yunnan's rural vitalization and provide intellectual support for the high-quality development of its border ethnic areas.

Among those delivering speeches at the launch ceremony were Lin Wenxun, Party secretary of the university and YNU vice president Liao Lianzhong.

Yang Shaojun, YNU director of the Social Science Department, announced the list of members of the academic steering committee for the project. Li Xiaobin, secretary of the Party committee of the Institute of Ethnology and Sociology, announced the list of the heads of the county-level investigation team.
