ZTA celebrates 20th anniversary

Beijing witnessed the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Zhongguancun Talent Association on Oct 18, 2020.

A press conference for the Talent Festival, themed on "Entering Zhongguancun", was also held at the event. 

One hundred thousand positions of 10,000 high-tech companies will be released during the festival, which will meet the employment needs of 200,000 international students and 1 million domestic college students.

The year-long "Zhongguancun Talent Festival" will accommodate a series of activities, such as a special corporate job fair, meetings for overseas students entering Zhongguancun, launching of a direct employment train for university students, seminars on overseas talent policy and live broadcasts of university students seeking jobs.

After the meeting, the Zhongguancun Talent Association will cooperate with Lagou.com to release job requirements and recruit talents from overseas students from all over the world as well as domestic college students.

This year's Talent Festival gives full play to big data technology, talent clusters and the human capital and resource advantages of technology enterprises accumulated by the Zhongguancun Talent Association over the last 20 years.

The Beijing Zhongguancun IT Professionals Association, the predecessor of the Zhongguancun Talent Association, was founded in Oct 2000 as the first mass organization in Zhongguancun. It officially changed its name to the Zhongguancun Talents Association in January 2013.

During the past 20 years, the organization has transformed from serving high-tech enterprises and technical personnel to providing comprehensive human resource services for the innovation and development of Zhongguancun Science Park. 

It has not only become the most active organization in Zhongguancun, but also a talent organization service organization with national and global influence.

The Zhongguancun Talent Forum and the Talent Sub-forum of the Beijing-Taiwan Science and Technology Forum hosted by the Association every year have also become highly appealing regional talent brand activities.

The 20-year commemorative album of the Zhongguancun Talent Association, "The Great Era of Passion", was released on-site.

The album describes the development of the Zhongguancun Talent Association's prosperity in the past 20 years through personal stories.

Representatives of Beike Jian Asset Management Co, New Oriental Wuyou Lezhi (Beijing) Education Technology Co and other companies participated in the conference.

The "White Paper on Zhongguancun Talent Development for the Past 40 Years" was issued at the event.

The White Paper expounds on the laws and experience of talent development in Zhongguancun for 40 years.

It mentions that in the past 40 years, when most developed countries put the task of keeping up with the information technology revolution in universities and scientific research institutes, Zhongguancun chose technological entrepreneurship as the main approach to catch up with the information technology revolution, to encourage entrepreneurial innovation and test companies' feasilbity in market conditions.

The round table forum held after the celebration ceremony was centered on the white paper. 

Experts interpreted "the first 20 years-with the shackles of the old age" and "the next 20 years-with the passionate entrepreneurship and innovation of the new era", reviewing history and looking forward to the future. 

Participants also discussed how to write a great article on "cultivating, attracting, gathering, and using talents", and explored Zhongguancun's way of "gathering and using talents from all over the world".

The Talent Festival and the white paper indicate that the Zhongguancun Talent Association has taken an important step towards building a high-level think tank for talents and industries. 

As the event successfully drew to a close with a chorus of "We are all dream chasers", the Zhongguancun Talent Association opened a new chapter of development.

Officers from the Western Returned Scholars Association, Beijing Talent Work, the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, the Beijing Municipal Human and Social Security Bureau and other departments, as well as experts and scholars from the Development Research Center of the State Council, the Chinese Academy of Personnel Sciences, Renmin University of China and Zhongguancun enterprise representatives attended the event.
