Applications of HarmonyOS are gaining steam since its first launch in 2019, with the self-developed operating system by Huawei Technologies Co being used to empower a range of sectors including tourism, education and home supplies.

Qiu Yu, general manager of channel marketing at online travel agency Qunar.com, said the online tourism platform has developed an Intelligent Travel 2.0 version based on HarmonyOS.

Since the cooperation began, daily visits to the platform has hit two million or more, she said on the sideline of Huawei Developer Conference in Dongguan, Guangdong province.

Xie Weijun, president of Hunan Kaihong Zhigu Digital Industry Development Co Ltd, said that with the OpenHarmony system, the educational product solutions developed by the company have achieved trial application in Hunan and Guangdong province, which enables teachers to get a better knowledge of students' learning situation and allows parents to learn more about their children's school life.

Lin Xiaowei, senior vice-president of Chinese kitchen and bathroom products manufacturer Jomoo Group, said the company, which joined the HarmonyOS Connect ecosystem last year, will work with Huawei to make new breakthroughs in the provision of intelligent kitchen and bathroom products to create a pleasant living experience for people.

The number of Huawei devices that have installed HarmonyOS has exceeded 320 million, growing 113 percent year-on-year, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business group, said on Friday.

More than 250 million third-party products that are equipped with HarmonyOS Connect for the internet of things have been shipped out of factories, surging 212 percent from last year, he said.
