The Zhongguancun Index 2022, a yearly study on the innovation and development of the Zhongguancun Science Park, was released by Fangdi Think Tank and Zhongguancun Innovation and Development Research Institute on Dec 21, 2022.

The report shows that the Zhongguancun Index has steadily increased, reaching 287.8 in 2021, an increase of 36.5 from the previous year, and 2.9 times the base period of 2013. 

Among the five first-level indices, the innovation leadership index rose rapidly to 347.3; the innovation and entrepreneurship index increased significantly to 453.0.

The openness and coordination index and high-quality development index both increased rapidly, reaching 270.2 and 246.4, respectively. The livability index increased steadily, reaching 122.1.

Innovation and entrepreneurship ecology upgrades

Open and coordinated development pattern has come into being

Progresses made in improving business environment and livability

The business environment is steadily advancing, and the construction of high-quality parks has improved.

Fangdi Think Tank and the Zhongguancun Innovation and Development Research Institute have carried out research on the Zhongguancun Index for 15 consecutive years. This is the 11th time that the index was issued. 

The report includes five first-level indicators, 11 second-level indicators, and 35 third-level indicators, including innovation leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship ecology, high-quality development, openness and coordination, and livability.

The index is known as the barometer for the development of China's high-tech zones and industries.
