Sino-German International Innovation Forum on ICVs opens

The series of activities of the 2022 Zhongguancun Forum - the Sino-German International Innovation Forum on Intelligent Connected Vehicles kicked off online on Dec 28.

Jin Wei, vice mayor of the Beijing Municipality, and Walter Dorin, chairman of the European Economic Senate, delivered speeches via online video.

Lin Jianhua, deputy head of the Haidian district, attended the forum online and introduced Zhongguancun Science City's construction of a world-class science city.

Lin introduced the resources of Haidian district, and the cooperation between China and Germany. He said that Zhongguancun Science City will always uphold an open and pragmatic culture, actively creating new opportunities for Sino-German cooperation, and will strive to make Zhongguancun Science City the first station for German companies to enter China.

At the forum, six experts and scholars gave speeches in terms of industrial trends, technological innovation, and regulatory construction. They included Li Keqiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Zhang Yaqin, foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Song Jiqiang, president of Intel China Research Institute; Zhang Yongwei, vice chairman the China Electric Vehicle 100; Zhang Lin, vice president of the German Automobile Industry Association (China); and Dennis Wilkens, representative of Germany Trade & Invest in China.

The Collaborative Innovation Platform for Intelligent Connected Vehicles in Zhongguancun Science City was officially launched at the forum. 

Under the guidance of the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee, the platform was jointly developed by Beijing Cuihu Intelligent Network Co, a construction and operation company of Zhongguancun Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone, together with over 50 institutes and industry organizations. 

This year's forum was broadcast online, with over 12,000 views.
