The Network for International Cooperation on Technology Commercialization (NICTC) was launched at the Digital Industry Innovation Center of the Zhongguancun Community in Beijing on Feb 21. It was part of the series of events marking the opening of the Zhongguancun Community. The event also marked the opening of the Beijing International Technology Trade Development Spring Forum.

The NICTC was initiated during the 2020 Zhongguancun Forum under the guidance of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, and the Zhongguancun Administrative Committee.

The aim of the alliance was to establish an international and open technology trading promotion platform.

The alliance currently has over 30 member institutions, including the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Service, ITTN, Zhongguancun Tianhe Technology Transfer Center, and Beijing IP. It has established partnerships with more than 100 international technology transfer and trading organizations.

According to Qin Jiuyi, chairman of the New Technology Development Center of the China Association for Science and Technology, the establishment of the Beijing International Technology Trading Alliance is another positive attempt to serve the integration of science and technology with the economy. He hopes that the alliance will actively integrate within the global innovation network and enhance the integration capabilities of global technology resources.

Jia Yiwei, vice president of the Zhongguancun Development Group, said that the establishment of the NICTC and the hosting of the International Technology Trading Development Forum will build a bridge for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and technology trading.

The Beijing International Technology Trade Development Spring Forum was held simultaneously, and Yang Chuan, executive director of the Sinofaith Technology Asset Evaluation Research Center, delivered a report entitled "Technology Finance and Technology Capital."

The forum also conducted special seminars on "Open Integration: Cooperation between Science and Technology Organizations and International Technology Trading" and "Developing International Technology Trade to Help Build the Global Influence of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center."

The "Zhongguancun Community" is an innovative ecological space created by the Zhongguancun Development Group. As its first demonstration project, the Digital Industry Innovation Center is a one-stop enterprise service experience center, with a total area of over 45,000 square meters.

Representatives of scientific research institutions and companies such as the Helmholtz Association of Germany, the Korea Innovation Center in China (KIC China), the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) of Korea, Osram (China) Investment Co, and the Representative Office of the National Autonomous University of Mexico in China also attended the event.
