The Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation and Development Conference, the first in a series of events in the 2023 Zhongguancun Forum, was held at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center in Beijing on Feb 13.

The computing center was officially launched signing contracts with 47 companies and research institutions initially pledging to promote the development of Beijing's artificial intelligence industry. 

The conference also announced the Artificial Intelligence Security and Trustworthy Protection Plan and issued a white paper detailing how it plans to grow the AI industry.

The computing center uses Ascend AI basic software and hardware to unleash its hardware computing power, accelerating innovation applications and model incubation for AI enterprises. 

The project adopts a market-oriented operation model, and explores a new model of "root technology + industry capital + industry policy" for artificial intelligence. It relies on innovation of root technology and the building of four platforms covering  public computing service, application innovation incubation, industry aggregation development, and scientific research innovation and talent training. 

The first 47 companies and research institutions that signed contracts with the center have an expected computing power usage scale of over 248P. In the future, the center will continue to expand, with a short-term computing power scale reaching 500P and a long-term scale of 1000P.

As of now, the Beijing Ascend Artificial Intelligence Ecological Innovation Center has served more than 100 Beijing artificial intelligence enterprises and incubated over 200 industry innovation solutions.

During the conference, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology released a white paper on the development of the artificial intelligence industry in Beijing in 2022.

The white paper presents Beijing's innovation achievements and experience in building a global source of innovation, providing decision-making references for the development of the artificial intelligence industry.
