Guangang Forest Park
Located on the southeast coast of Tianjin by the Bohai Sea, Guangang Forest Park boasts a diverse range of biological species with 45 families and over 120 species of woody and herbaceous plants. It is also home to a large number of wild rare birds, and has the distinct features of a plain forest and the unique landscape of the land-sea transition zone.
The park offers fresh air, beautiful scenery and a serene environment. Known as the "Little Baiyangdian of Tianjin”, the park has natural water and soil, along with its rich resources, providing visitors with a wonderful experience of greenery and natural surroundings.
Tanggu Forest Park
Situated at the southern end of the intersection of Tanghan Line and Beiyang Line in Beitang Street, Binhai New Area, Tanggu Forest Park is the largest ecological greening project in Tianjin’s Binhai New Area, covering a total development area of 4.6 square kilometers.
The park includes nine functional zones: Cultural Recreation Area, Leisure Vacation Area, Sports and Entertainment Area, Exotic Style Area, Animal Area, Ecological Demonstration Area, Quiet Rest Area, Hovercraft Recreation Area and Equestrian Activity Area.
With over 1 million trees planted and 106 species of trees and shrubs, the park has formed unique forest belts such as peach blossom forest, cherry blossom forest and botanical garden. Traditional tree species such as ash, goldenrain and black locust are rooted in the park, while new introductions such as paper mulberry, dawn redwood and white magnolia have also taken root, creating a diverse plant environment.
TEDA Plant Resource Bank
TEDA Plant Resource Bank, covering an area of 260,000 sq m, is a comprehensive botanical garden integrating scientific research, science education, demonstration and sightseeing. It is a high point of the Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone's green practices in transforming saline wasteland to a green, low-carbon and international industrial new area.
As the most plant-rich comprehensive botanical garden in Tianjin, the park has become a destination for Binhai New Area and Tianjin residents to enjoy flowers and leisure. The plant resource bank focuses on developing new varieties, conducting research on various plant categories such as rose breeding, ornamental grass breeding and lily breeding. It has made significant achievements in rose breeding. Currently, 20 new rose varieties have been submitted for approval to the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, with five authorized.
In December 2021, the Tianjin Saline-Alkali Tolerant Plant Germplasm Resource Bank was established at TEDA Greening Technology Group, making it the first provincial (municipal) "Saline-Alkali Tolerant Plant Germplasm Resource Bank" and the only forest and grass germplasm resource bank in the city.
Lingang Wetland Park
Located in the western part of the Lingang area in the Tianjin Port Bonded Free Trade Zone, bordered by Haibin Avenue to the west, Bohai 10th Road to the east, Jinjin Expressway extension to the south, and Changjiang Road to the north, Lingang Wetland Park covers a total area of about 1.83 million sq m.
It is a key ecological restoration project for the coastal wetlands in the Binhai New Area and a demonstration project for the National Water Pollution Control and Treatment Science and Technology Major Project.
The park is divided into three major scenic areas from north to south: Regulation Lake, Subsurface Flow Wetland Lake and Thematic Landscape Lake. Based on the unique terrain features of ponds, beaches, dikes, embankments and islands, the park includes five islands and 10 scenic spots such as Snow in Reed Pond, Fragrant Cattail Path, Water Pond Farmland, Swaying Willow Shadows and Water Pier Fun.
Additionally, the park has planted over 100 species of terrestrial and aquatic plants, such as acorus, aquatic iris and reeds, to restore water quality and construct a wetland ecological chain.
Huifeng Creek Scenic River Park
Huifeng Creek Scenic River Park is located on the north side of the starting area of the China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City, adjacent to the Qingtuozi Feature Center. It stretches from Central Avenue in the east to the old course of the Jiyun River in the west, with a total length of about 2.1 kilometers.
The park has nine scenic garden areas: Evergreen Garden, Peach Blossom Island, Bamboo Grove Garden, Aquatic Plant Garden, Children's Plaza, Flowering Meadow, Ornamental Grass Garden, Autumn Fruit Garden and Water Purification Zone, creating the landscape of "spring peach blossom viewing, summer lotus watching, autumn fruit picking and winter pine listening" throughout the four seasons.
