International students at Tianjin Normal University took a special bus ride to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival on Sept 16.
The students boarded Route 13, a 41-year-old line that passes through Tianjin's iconic historical landmarks, including Wudadao, Jiefang Bridge and Tianjin Station.
Accompanied by bilingual volunteers, lead teachers and bus workers from the Tianjin Public Transport Group Second Passenger Transport Co, the students were offered a ride of unique experience in cultural immersion.
Driver Hui Jiangtao shared insights during the journey, explaining that Route 13 holds a special place in the hearts of Tianjin residents. Real-time translations provided by the volunteers helped the students deepen their understanding throughout the tour.

As the bus made its way through the city's streets, volunteers narrated fascinating stories about Tianjin's history, starting with its founding in 1404. The ambiance was further enhanced by the soulful sounds of the Erhu, with a melody reminiscent of horse racing filling the air. The performance by bus employee Ning Xintong captivated the students, earning her a round of applause.
Traditional Tianjin mooncakes were also offered on board, adding a festive flavor to the experience. Mina, a student from Uzbekistan, said, "This is my first time trying five-nut mooncakes, and I find them delicious.
"This Mid-Autumn Festival celebration is very meaningful. I am really fond of Tianjin."
Pang Haisen, a fleet manager with the company, said, "Our goal is to make Tianjin's history, culture, and warm hospitality to become cherished memories for the foreign students studying and living here."
