Tianjin Wildlife Park (formerly known as Yili Fairyland) spans over 400,000 square meters and is a comprehensive zoo combining animal interactions, exhibitions, science education, and leisure entertainment. The park is home to over 160 species, including giant pandas, giraffes, zebras, ring-tailed lemurs, African lions, brown bears, and black bears. The park is divided into five zones: a walking zone, free-range zone, self-drive area, predator zone, and central service zone, allowing visitors to observe animals from various perspectives and distances.
In the walking zone, you’ll find Panda Mansion, Cloud Square, and the Competitive Theater, where visitors can watch performances and interact with adorable animals. The free-range zone allows close interaction with animals like alpacas, sika deer, and Shetland ponies. The self-drive area and predator zone feature herbivores such as camels, antelopes, white yaks, ostriches, as well as carnivores like brown bears, black bears, and prairie wolves. In the herbivore section of the self-drive zone, visitors can open their car windows to feed the animals. In the predator zone, visitors must ride in special “armored vehicles” to experience thrilling encounters with African lions in a safe environment.
