Wuxi awarded for attracting talent, promoting employment

Wuxi in East China's Jiangsu province was awarded for being the top Chinese city for attracting talent and promoting employment during the online 2021 China Best Employer Annual Award Ceremony on Dec 18.

This is the third year Wuxi has been named the top Chinese city for attracting talent and the second year is has been awarded for promoting employment.

Wuxi has been implementing supporting measures and hosting talent-oriented events to promote employment, aiming to develop more driving forces for the city's economic development.

As of the end of November, Wuxi had introduced more than 11,900 high-level talents, 2,470 overseas returnees, and 102,000 college students.

The total number of talents in the city now exceeds 1.94 million, including 152,500 high-level talents, 19,000 returnees, and 471,000 highly-skilled talents.

According to Wang Feng, CEO of Wuxi Xuelang Digital System Technology, "Wuxi, located in the central area of the Yangtze River Delta, is a city with a strong manufacturing foundation and supporting industrial planning. It has formed new approaches to talent introduction based on local conditions."

This year, Wuxi's "Taihu Talent Plan" offered support to 300 talent projects in 14 categories.

This year's Taihu Talent Summit witnessed the signing of agreements for 358 projects and the landing of 81 cooperation platforms, with total intended investment amounting to 23.55 billion yuan ($3.7 billion). Wuxi also signed strategic cooperation deals with the first 11 future technical colleges in China.
