Boasting a history of more than 3,000 years, Wuxi is a historical city with profound cultural heritages and a large amount of talents. It was home to the Wu Culture in ancient times and is today known for its industrial and commercial culture. Wuxi has 31 important heritage sites under state protection, 11 sites named national intangible cultural heritage and 60 museums and memorial halls.

Wuxi is a city of fascinating natural scenery. It is characterized by abundant beautiful rivers, idyllic lakes, unique-shaped caves, bamboo forests and tea gardens. The city is home to four national 5A scenic spots and 27 national 4A scenic spots, including Lingshan Mountain scenic area, Yuantouzhu scenic area (Turtle Head Isle), Wuxi Movie/TV Base and Huishan Ancient Town.
