Tongzhou bay makes strides in high-quality development

The Tongzhou bay demonstration area of river-and-sea coordinated development in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province has achieved high-quality development in the past decade.

Tongzhou bay has established five industrial parks since its establishment in 2012 and has been rated as a national demonstration area for river-and-sea coordinated development. 

In Sangangchi dock, three wharves are currently under construction. Among them, two wharves can accommodate 100,000-ton ships and one wharf for 50,000-ton vessels. The dock, which will become operational in 2024, will be used to transport raw materials including ironstone and coal for enterprises in the vicinity.

Nantong Strong Wind New Energy Equipment Technology Co Ltd, a company which was set up in the Lingang industrial park of high-end equipment in Tongzhou bay in 2019, generated more than 500 million yuan ($70.27 million) in sales in the first half of this year. The company is expected to have a sales turnover of 1.2 billion yuan this year.

The Lingang industrial park of high-end equipment in the area has hosted 20 leading projects with a total investment of 43 billion yuan in the past decade.

The high-tech comprehensive industry park in the area has introduced 93 industrial projects in the past decade. Among them, 31 have been put into operation and 31 are under construction. The park is expected to generate 42 billion yuan in output value and have a tax revenue of two billion yuan annually when all these projects are completed.

To date, five industrial parks in Tongzhou bay have introduced 153 projects with a total investment of 120 billion yuan.
