The Longwan government is promoting widespread fitness, and the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center Stadium, the most expensive sports facility to ever be built in Wenzhou, meets the daily recreational and sporting needs of local residents.

The venue, which is shaped like a sailing ship when viewed from the side, also boasts the third-largest seating capacity in Zhejiang province at 50,000, and features a variety of cutting-edge technologies and designs ranging from an illumination system to natural pitches.

The stadium features "green, smart, economical and convenient" facilities and is one of three competition venues in Wenzhou for football group matches of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022.
