Ningxia witnesses a rise in visitors for the Corban Festival holiday

During the two-day Corban Festival holiday, or Eid al-Adha, from June 29- 30, the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region received about 1.81 million tourists, who collectively brought income of around 1.3 billion yuan ($183.2 million), according to statistics from the region's Department of Culture and Tourism.

Over the holiday season, public cultural venues in Ningxia were open to the public free of charge, offering a wide range of art exhibitions, performances, and other activities. This created a festive atmosphere for residents and tourists alike.

Examples include the Ningxia Library, which organized online activities such as storytelling sessions and exhibitions showcasing the region's deep cultural heritage, providing engaging experiences for readers. 

The Ningxia Museum attracted visitors with its exhibitions, both online and offline, which covered various themes such as general history, revolution-related culture, rock art culture, and folk culture. The Yinchuan Contemporary Art Museum hosted a special exhibition on the Yellow River, which was enjoyed by visitors of all ages.

Additionally, performance venues like the Yinchuan Theater put on shows featuring ethnic music and children's plays, offering tourists a leisurely and educational experience.

Innovative and unique products from scenic spots in Ningxia attracted tourists. The Shapotou Tourist Scenic Area offered a special desert journey with high-tech "desert flying" and traditional "Silk Road camel bells".

The immersive night tour of "Seeing Helan" in Manpu Town continued to be popular, offering a journey through time and space along with Northwest cuisine and themed homestays. The Sand Lake offered various cultural and tourism activities combining sightseeing and food.

The Yanzhou Ancient City Historical and Cultural Tourism Area in Wuzhong launched a large-scale live performance on Tang Dynasty's glory, receiving a total of 39,800 visitors.

The Niujiafang Homestay Cultural Zone opened to the public and welcomed its first batch of visitors, receiving a total of 37,000 visitors during the holiday period.

Overall, Ningxia's scenic spots integrate cultural activities and heritage products, creating a strong artistic atmosphere for people to enjoy during holidays.

To meet the demand during the festival and peak summer vacation season, travel agencies have launched discounted one-day and two-day tours, stargazing camps, mountaineering and hiking tours, study trips, and rural tours. The number of overnight and out-of-province tourists, as well as group tourists, has significantly increased.
