BIT-BMSTU Joint School

School of Optics and Photonics

It is one of the pioneering institutions in China that focus on teaching and research in the field of optical engineering. Currently, the school comprises of four research institutes, one experiment center, and one experiment base.

School of Information and Electronics

The School of Information and Electronics at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) was established in 1953 as China's first institution specializing in radar design and manufacturing. It is a pioneer in radar and remote sensing research and talent cultivation in China.

School of Integrated Circuits and Electronics

The school focuses on two first-level disciplines: integrated circuit science and engineering, and electronic science and technology. In turn, it has a strong faculty and advanced research and experimental platforms.

School of Automation

​The School of Automation at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) was one of the earliest in China to offer majors in automatic control, starting in 1953. It was also the predecessor of the Department of Automatic Control which was established in 1960.

School of Computer Science and Technology

BIT's computer science discipline is highly respected internationally, ranking in the top one percent globally according to ESI (Essential Science Indicators). It also holds a strong position nationally, ranking in the top 10 percent in China.

School of Cyberspace Science and Technology

The School of Cyberspace Science and Technology, established in 2020, aims to become a world-class institution with Chinese characteristics in the field of cyberspace security, serving China's national strategy and implementing the overall national security concept.
