The International Volleyball Federation announced on Feb 18 that China will host the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) Men's Finals in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, from July 30 to Aug 3.

As the host nation, China's men's volleyball team will make their first Finals appearance since 2018, joining the top seven teams from the preliminary rounds in a high-stakes knockout tournament.

The Finals will take place in Beilun, a district of Ningbo renowned for its extensive experience in hosting international volleyball competitions. Since 2005, Beilun has organized over 23 major events, including the VNL Women's preliminary rounds and the Olympic qualifiers. With its world-class facilities and passionate fan base, Beilun is well-equipped to deliver an exceptional tournament.

The 2025 VNL will feature an expanded format, with 18 teams competing across nine preliminary rounds from June 11 to July 20. Each team will play 12 matches, with China facing tough opponents — in Xi'an, Chicago, and Gdansk. The Finals will determine the champion through quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final match.

China's return to the VNL comes after their victory in the 2024 Men's Volleyball Challenger Cup, and hosting the Finals provides an opportunity to secure their place in the 2026 tournament.

As one of volleyball's most prestigious events, the VNL Finals in Ningbo will exhibit the sport's highest level of competition, offering fans an unforgettable experience of power, speed, and skill.
