A team of Portuguese experts has arrived in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, to assist a local manufacturer, strengthening international collaboration in advanced production technologies.

At HaMinGi (Ningbo) Automotive Co Ltd in the city's Beilun district, a 25-member team is working closely with Chinese engineers to fine-tune and optimize automated production equipment. The experts will stay until the end of March, focusing on the launch of the new PVC production line for mass production in May.

Cesar Aguia, an R&D technical manager from Portuguese TMG Group, said that the main goal of the collaboration is to assist with the final adjustments and troubleshooting of the PVC line. He emphasized that HaMinGi's production technology is already at the international standard, and the team's support will help further improve efficiency and product quality.

A China-Portugal-US joint venture, HaMinGi has been producing high-performance automotive interior materials since 2018, supplying leading brands such as Ford, Cadillac, Jeep, and Lincoln. Its growth reflects the rapid development of the new energy vehicle (NEV) market, with over 50 percent of its components now used in NEVs.

"Our TPO and PVC materials are designed to meet the needs of both traditional and NEV markets, ensuring durability and sustainability," said Pei Laiyong, head of the company, who highlighted the increasing demand for lightweight, eco-friendly materials.
