The Ningbo-Belgium cargo route officially resumed when a fully loaded B747 cargo plane departed from Ningbo Lishe International Airport for Liege, Belgium on March 29.

Operated by ASL Airlines of Belgium, the route now offers three weekly flights, each with a payload of approximately 120 metric tons.

The imports primarily include equipment and auto parts, while exports focus on e-commerce goods, machinery, precision instruments, and textiles. Reinstating the route aims to address cargo space shortages for high-end manufacturing exports from China's Yangtze River Delta region to Europe.

Liege is a key distributor to regions like Germany's Ruhr area, the Netherlands' Rotterdam, and Northern France's industrial belt. According to a representative from Sinotrans Ningbo Branch, the restoration of this air logistics channel will significantly boost transport efficiency and give local exporters a competitive edge.

Ningbo airport has actively expanded its intercontinental cargo network to meet regional business needs, establishing a swift, reliable aerial corridor. This not only helps stabilize local supply chains but also strengthens Ningbo airport's position as a leading cargo hub.
