More than 2.74 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines had been administered in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province as of June 2, local media reported on June 4.
The number of doses administered has continued to rise at an ever-faster rate since Shaoxing's vaccination program started on September 28, 2020.
To date, the city has set up 140 vaccination sites and assigned over 6,800 medical workers to increase vaccine distribution.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has remained under control in Shaoxing for more than 450 days, but the recent outbreak affecting Anhui and Liaoning provinces has sounded the alarm for us," said an expert at the city's disease prevention and control center.
Expats who do not speak Chinese can ask their colleagues or employers for help to make an appointment, he added.
