Shaoxing branch of Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital officially in operation
The Yuecheng campus of Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital, also known as Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital Shaoxing Branch, was officially put into operation on Jan 5.
The Yuecheng campus aims to meet the healthcare needs of Shaoxing and surrounding residents, providing medical services for complex conditions at their doorstep.
Residents of Yuecheng distirct, like 55-year-old Shen E'fa, no longer need to travel to Hangzhou. "You can see specialists from the provincial capital right at your doorstep," Shen said.
She added that taking a bus from home to the hospital only takes 20 minutes, saving a considerable amount of time compared to traveling to Hangzhou by subway for medical appointments.
According to information gathered by reporters, since the trial run at the end of last year, the daily outpatient volume has reached nearly 2,000 in just one month.
The Urology Department has successfully completed the first robotic surgery in Shaoxing and the first ultra-long-distance robotic surgery. Teams in Urology, Gastrointestinal Pancreatic Surgery, and Gynecology have performed dozens of robotic surgeries.
"Our original intention is to fully leverage the strong disciplines focused on surgery and the treatment of complex and difficult diseases. We aim to significantly improve the level of disease treatment, allowing the people of Shaoxing to enjoy the same medical quality as the headquarters," said Ge Minghua, director of Zhejiang Provincial People's Hospital.
