As the festive atmosphere of the Lantern Festival lingers, food manufacturers in Shengzhou, Zhejiang province, are gearing up for international expansion. Shengzhou Jichangrong Food recently completed its first major export order of the year, shipping 300,000 Shengzhou steamed buns to Vietnam.

Encouraged by a smooth customs process last year, the company has continued to expand into the Southeast Asian market and is exploring opportunities in the United States. Similarly, Shengzhou Sunflower Food successfully exported 60,000 frozen steamed buns to Hong Kong for the first time after clearance by Shaoxing Customs.

Despite being new to the export business, Sunflower Food Company received prompt guidance from customs officials. When an issue was identified with the labeling of its export packaging, officials provided immediate assistance, ensuring compliance with international standards and timely delivery.

Shengzhou steamed bun, a famous local delicacy, made its international debut in late 2023. Currently, 14 local companies have registered to export, and four have already completed their first overseas shipments. To support this growing industry, Shaoxing Customs has implemented measures such as expedited inspections and digital certification issuance to ensure fast and efficient export processes.

"We will continue to improve policy guidance, streamline customs procedures and provide technical support to help more Shengzhou food enterprises enter the global market," said Zhu Jianyang, director of the second business division at the Xinsheng office of Shaoxing Customs.
