Baiyin Nonferrous Group Co Ltd was originally known as Baiyin Nonferrous Metals Company. Founded in September 1954, the factory, which was one of the 156 key construction projects during the First Five-Year Plan (1953-1957) period, has made a historic contribution to the national nonferrous metal industry and local economic and social development over the past 65 years. Currently, it owns a registered capital of 7.212 billion yuan ($1.05 billion), with 43 branches and subsidiaries and more than 40 kinds of products. Its business covers the mining, mineral processing, smelting, processing, financial investment and trade, of copper, plumbum, zinc, gold, silver and other non-ferrous metals, as well as rare precious metals. It has resource bases in Baiyin, Longnan, Shanxi, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, Yunnan and other provinces and regions of China, along with more than 10 countries and regions in Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. In 2018, it ranked 287th among China's top 500 enterprises and 86th among China's top 100 multinationals.
