The newly-renovated Yangguan Road in Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu province, opened to traffic on Sept 25.

The 12.1-kilometer-long road runs from west to east, connecting Dunhuang Hotel and Mogao International Airport. It was widened into six-lanes in both directions.

Intelligent signal lights and harbor-style docking points have been added at airports, railway stations, the Mogao Grottoes Visitor Center and other nodes with large passenger flows.

A diamond-shaped interchange and four connecting ramps were built to improve traffic conversion capabilities.

In addition, great efforts have been made in greening the city, through the planting of trees along the road.

It's an important supporting project for the upcoming Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo and is expected to expand regional tourism resources and boost the economic vitality of the city.
