Iconic dance drama 'Flower Rains Along The Silk Road' staged in Tianshui

On April 8, Tianshui city welcomed a record number of visitors, with 159,500 tourists generating tourism revenue of 90 million yuan ($12.44 million). In a display of heartfelt hospitality, the appreciative people of Gansu offered the highest cultural tribute to guests from all over the world by presenting the classic Chinese dance drama Flower Rains Along The Silk Road.

This timeless masterpiece has been performed 3,952 times over the past 45 years, attracting over 53.74 million spectators. It is known as "the epitome of Chinese national dance drama" and "the Oriental Swan Lake".

The performance featured select excerpts from the drama, including "Golden Buddha Light", "Pipa Dance" and "Heavenly Music of Apsaras". These captivating dance segments mesmerized the audience and transported them to the vibrant world of Silk Road culture.

Another highlight was the selection of scenes from the national dance drama Flying General Li Guang. This allowed the visitors to appreciate the indomitable spirit, patriotism and pioneering spirit of the local hero General Li Guang and the young Han warriors.
