Gannan has significantly increased investment in the yak industry, strengthened technological research and development, and promoted the construction of a yak industry belt. This includes enhancing the infrastructure and breeding capacity of eight breeding farms, establishing five large-scale breeding bases, each with over 10,000 yaks, ten bases with over 1,000 yaks each, and 418 scaled breeding bases.

The yak industry has become a key sector for accelerating local economic development and increasing the income of the local population.

With the joint efforts of enterprises and the government, Hezuo has now become a national trading center for yak milk and chura products, the main production base for yak milk series products, and accounts for 86 percent of the national trade volume in yak milk and chura, as well as 90 percent of the national production of casein series products.
